This privacy policy applies to the Say app (hereby referred to as "Application"), developed by Say Inc. (hereby referred to as "Service Provider"). The Application is available as a free service with optional subscription plans.

Our Commitment to Your Privacy

At Say, we are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information.

Information We Collect

Account Information:

  • Email Address: Used to create and manage your account and provide support.
  • Username: Used to personalize your experience within the app.

Usage Information:

  • App Interaction Data: How you navigate and use features within the app.
  • Session Information: Time spent in the app and feature usage patterns.
  • Device Information: Operating system and device type.

Subscription Information:

  • Managed through RevenueCat for subscription services.

SMS Data (Android, Optional):

  • Bank SMS Messages: Only messages containing your configured keywords are processed to extract expense information.
  • Important: SMS message content is never stored. Only extracted expense details (amount, merchant, category) are saved.
  • This is an opt-in feature that requires explicit permission.

How We Use Your Information

Essential App Functionality:

  • To create and maintain your account.
  • To process and manage your subscription.
  • To provide personalized insights and improve app stability.

Analytics & Improvement:

  • To understand how users interact with our features.
  • To identify areas for improvement.

SMS Auto-Tracking (Android)

Our app can automatically track expenses from bank SMS messages with your explicit permission. This feature is only available on Android devices and requires you to opt-in.

What We Access:

  • Incoming SMS messages that match your configured keywords only (e.g., "transaction", "payment", "purchase").
  • We do not read all SMS messages. Only messages containing your specific keywords are processed.

How We Use It:

  • Extract transaction details (amount, merchant, date, category) from bank SMS notifications.
  • Automatically save expense records to your personal database.
  • SMS content is processed immediately using AI and never stored on our servers.
  • Only the extracted expense data (amount, merchant, category) is saved.

Your Control:

  • This feature is disabled by default. You must explicitly enable it in Settings → SMS Auto-Tracking.
  • You can enable or disable this feature at any time in the app settings.
  • You can configure which keywords trigger SMS processing.
  • You can revoke SMS permissions anytime through your device Settings → Apps → Say → Permissions.

Data Retention:

SMS message content is not stored. Only the extracted expense information (amount, merchant, category, date) is saved to your expense database, just like manually entered expenses.

Third Party Access

We use third-party services like RevenueCat for managing subscriptions and analytics services for app improvement. These services have their own privacy policies.

What We DON'T Do With Your Data

  • We do not sell your personal information.
  • We do not share your expense data with third parties.

Account Deletion

You can delete your account and associated personal data directly within the app. Upon deletion:

  • Your personal information will be removed from our systems.
  • Your subscription will be canceled (though you may need to cancel through the app store separately).

Data Retention Policy

We retain user-provided data for as long as you use the Application and for a reasonable time thereafter. Expense data is stored for analytics and personalized features.

Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encryption and secure data storage practices.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating this page. Continued use of the Application is deemed approval of all changes.
